Microneedling in Fort Lauderdale
Tiny microchannels stimulate your own collagen production — improving texture, tone, and laxity on the face, neck, and décolleté. On the scalp, the same technique signals dormant follicles and supports hair growth. Two practitioners at Glowtology perform microneedling — see Common Questions below to figure out which one is right for what you're treating.
Medical microneedling uses a precision device with fine, sterile needles to create thousands of microchannels in the upper layers of skin (or scalp). This controlled injury triggers your body's natural wound-healing cascade — producing new collagen and elastin in the skin, or renewed activity in dormant hair follicles. Glowtology offers two versions: physician-performed microneedling with Dr. Green (face and scalp, optional PRP combination) and SkinPen microneedling with Megan at MP Skin Studio (the only FDA-cleared microneedling device, face/neck/décolleté with LED finish).
- Fine lines and crepey texture (face, neck, décolleté)
- Acne scars and indented scarring
- Enlarged pores
- Uneven skin tone and pigmentation
- Stretch marks
- Loss of firmness in the neck and chest area
- Diffuse hair thinning (scalp microneedling, Dr. Green)
A one-hour appointment, topically numbed. With Dr. Green: microneedling in controlled passes across face or scalp, optional layered PRP. With Megan: SkinPen across face, neck, and décolleté, followed by LED therapy and a soothing post-treatment mask. Most patients describe a light vibration with mild prickling.
Skin looks like a moderate sunburn for 12–24 hours. Pinpoint dryness or flaking is normal for 2–3 days. Avoid direct sun for one week. Most patients see initial brightness within 5 days and continued improvement over 4–6 weeks.
Price varies
A series of 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart produces the best results. SkinPen with Megan starts at $399 and is reserved for returning MP Skin Studio clients (start with a Signature Facial or New Client Experience). Series pricing available with both practitioners.
Which practitioner should I see?
If you're treating scalp/hair thinning, scarring you'd like paired with PRP, or you're new to microneedling, see Dr. Green. If you want focused face/neck/décolleté work with the FDA-cleared SkinPen and an esthetician-led recovery protocol, see Megan — note that Megan reserves microneedling for returning MP Skin Studio clients.
Does it hurt?
We numb the skin first. Most patients describe it as a 3 out of 10 — uncomfortable but tolerable. The forehead and along the jaw can be more sensitive.
How many treatments do I need?
For general glow and texture: 1–3. For acne scarring, stretch marks, or significant texture concerns: 4–6 sessions spaced a month apart.
Microneedling with PRP — is that an upgrade?
Yes, and that combination is available with Dr. Green. Adding PRP layers your own growth factors directly into the open microchannels, accelerating healing and amplifying results.
Scalp microneedling — does it really help hair growth?
Yes, especially when combined with PRP for thinning hair. Performed by Dr. Green. The mechanical stimulation alone signals dormant follicles; adding PRP amplifies the response.
PRP — Platelet-Rich Plasma
Your own platelets, concentrated and delivered where they'll do the most — face, under-eyes, or scalp.
